Located in the heart of Clearwater, Kobe Italian brilliantly marries Japanese finesse with Italian warmth, creating an unforgettable dining experience that appeals to lovers of sushi, hibachi, and classic Italian flavors alike. This unique fusion restaurant stands out not only for its diverse menu but also for its cozy, inviting atmosphere—complete with a quaint front area featuring a small bar for cocktails and intimate hibachi tables in the back for that interactive dining flair.
From the very first bite, Kobe Italian entices with the fresh, vibrant flavors of their Sweet Potato Sushi and the delightfully crispy 2011 Sushi Roll Deep Fried, which comes accompanied by their signature two-sauce mixture that elevates the dish to a new level. The sushi here isn’t just food; it's an artful balance of textures and tastes, like the cool creaminess of the Avocado Bowl paired with the delicate pop of Salmon Roe Ikura. For those who crave the savory sizzle of a grill, the hibachi selections like the Hibachi Steak Jr, Hibachi Chicken Jr, and succulent Beef Yakitori are cooked to perfection and served alongside traditional sides such as hibachi rice, noodles, and crisp vegetables, all complemented by a soothing clear onion soup and fresh house salad with ginger dressing.
Italian offerings add an unexpected but harmonious twist, with dishes like Bruschetta with Basil, creamy Lasagna, and delectably fried appetizers like Fried Ravioli creating a bridge between cultures on your plate. The menu is rounded out with tempting desserts such as the warm and crunchy Fried Ice Cream, a perfect finish to an indulgent meal.
Guests regularly praise Kobe Italian for its remarkable blend of quality food and fair pricing. One visitor, Makayla Gowan, emphasized how the Sake House Special for Two provides great value without compromising flavor, making it an ideal spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. The service strikes a friendly, approachable tone—attentive enough to feel cared for without being intrusive.
The ambiance complements the culinary offerings perfectly. It feels like a local gem: cozy, intimate, and relaxed, where you can savor your meal without the rush or pretension of larger chains. This atmosphere enhances the experience of enjoying freshly prepared sushi rolls, like the ever-popular Cucumber Roll and Chicken Tempura Roll, which Regina Mosca singled out as a personal favorite, especially when dipped in the restaurant’s famous yum yum sauce.
Whether you’re a sushi aficionado seeking the freshest cuts of salmon, as experienced by a delighted traveler in town recently, or someone who appreciates a hearty hibachi dinner with all the traditional trimmings, Kobe Italian promises flavors that linger on the palate and hospitality that makes you feel at home. For those craving a taste adventure with familiar comforts and surprising flair, this eatery is truly a Clearwater must-visit.

This is my go to place for sushi and hibachi it's the best in town hands down
I think they have one of the best fried rice dish around Largo/Clearwater. Their Fried Sushi 2011 rolls are fantastic. The two sauce mixture tops off the taste. I also enjoy their Ginger salad dressing, mild and very tasty. This restaurant has a small quiet quaint area out front with a small bar to just enjoy cocktails, then in the back are the hibachi tables. Try this place, you won't be disappointed. Even offers Italian dishes. My granddaughter loves their plain angel hair pasta with red sauce.
Delicious food. We got the sake house for two, it was around $40-$50 in total. So typically we’d go to another hibachi place and we’d spend around $100 in total. But here we were able to get a deal, still bring leftovers home and get drinks within a budget. Really friendly people, great service.
The food is great. I love the cucumber sushi rolls and the chicken tempura rolls. The chicken hibachi is also really good. Don't forget the yum yum sauce! This is my favorite spot for both. The service is okay. It's a cute little restaurant, so I would say the atmosphere is great. I definitely recommend eating here.
Visiting the area and was looking for Sushi for dinner. Found that they were close by. After I arrived I asked for suggestions for rolls with Salmon. After ordering the suggestions I got it to-go and headed back to my hotel to eat. I was VERY happy with the rolls. The Salmon was fresh and delicious. The staff was very nice.
Another fantastic meal prepared and served by the very talented sushi chef Jasper! The food is always fresh and delicious, service by Lindy is warm, friendly, and fast, and being able to sit at the counter while Sam and Jasper make your dinner in front of you is always a treat. Prices are very good, portions are generous, and the welcoming staff will definitely make you feel like coming back.
